As part of an ongoing effort to improve sickle cell care in NC, the Duke University School of Nursing sickle cell team are requesting ENA’s participation in a 5-minute survey about our familiarity with and use of the VOC algorithm and case management referral form. The results will be used as part of a study that Dr. Paula Tanabe is conducting, funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. This survey was actually sent out to ENA members a year ago as a baseline, and now they are seeking results at one year out.

The link to the survey is here: https://bit.ly/2J2ExCT

If you’re interested in taking this one step further, they are also looking for some providers who would be interested in participating in a very short interview over the phone, approximately 30 minutes. Please contact Emily Bonnabeau at emily.bonnabeau@duke.edu or 919-681-0230 for more information or to schedule an interview. You will be compensated for your time. See attached flyer for more details.

And if you’re looking to take your interest in care for the NC sickle cell population across the finish line, the Duke team has also rolled out a new monthly Sickle Cell ED Learning Collaborative and are recruiting ED providers to participate throughout the country (JA Credits offered). Online meetings will be held the 1st Wednesday of every month from 12:00pm-1:00pm EDT. See attached flyer. Again, please contact Emily Bonnabeau at emily.bonnabeau@duke.edu for more information.
