NCENA 2020 Awards Applications

Every year the NCENA accepts applications for awards to recognize emergency nurses from across the state that have made an impact on the profession. These individuals are recognized by their peers through the nomination process and selection by our Awards/Scholarship Committee.

Awards available include (see application links for awards criteria):

• Lifetime Achievement Award:  This award honors a nurse whose career achievements reflect dedicated service, accomplishments and/or contributions to emergency nursing that have value to emergency nursing beyond the recipient's lifetime.  APPLICATION LINK

• Nurse Manager Award:  This award recognizes a nurse in an emergency nursing management role who has consistently demonstrated excellence in the profession of emergency nursing and has made significant contributions.  APPLICATION LINK

• Nursing Practice & Professionalism Award:  This award recognizes a nurse who exemplifies outstanding nursing practice as demonstrated through clinical skills, care and compassion. This nurse is recognized by peers as an expert in emergency nursing and consistently exhibits traits associated with professional behavior and commitment to professional values. This individual may demonstrate outstanding commitment to a specialty population such as pediatrics or older adults within the specialty of emergency nursing.  APPLICATION LINK

• Behind the Scenes Award:  This award recognizes a nurse that has made significant contribution to the profession of emergency nursing and the advancement of the Emergency Nurses Association in a manner that otherwise go unnoticed. APPLICATION LINK

• Rising Star Award:  This award recognizes a new ENA member who has made a significant contribution to ENA as exhibited by the promotion of ENA as a professional organization for emergency nurses.  APPLICATION LINK

• Pediatric Readiness Improvement Award:  This aware recognizes a nurse who demonstrated outstanding efforts to improve readiness in caring for children in the emergency setting. This nurse is recognized by peers as an expert in pediatric emergency nursing and consistently exhibits traits associated with professional behavior and commitment to professional values.  APPLICATION LINK

• President's Award:  The current NC ENA President may choose to give one or multiple President’s Awards. This award will not have specific criteria or nomination process. This award is given solely at the discretion of the President.

You DO NOT have to be an ENA member to nominate someone.  This is solely our way of recognizing the amazing work EMERGENCY NURSES as a community do throughout the state.
