ENA Day on the Hill
April 16-17, 2024
Crystal Gateway Marriott
Arlington, VA

NCENA is excited to announce ENA's premier annual advocacy event will offered in-person again this year for a two-day program that features education about ENA’s current priorities, training on how to be an effective emergency nursing advocate when you meet with federal lawmakers and networking opportunities with your colleagues.  NCENA looks forward to advocating for positive change and celebrating emergency nurses on Capitol Hill!

FUNDING:
NCENA will reimburse those selected up to $1250 for the following costs:
- Airfare
- Hotel (conference hotel for 2 nights)
- Taxi/rideshare to/from airport and meetings
- Meals incl tax/gratuity (no alcohol will be reimbursed)
- Parking

APPLICATIONS:
NCENA is soliciting self-nominations to attend the ENA Day on the Hill event.  Unfortunately, we do not get many slots so we will only be able to financially support 3-4 members this year.  If you are interested, please send in a letter of intent to include why you are interested, what you hope to gain from the experience, and any ENA Government Affairs activity/experience you have in the past 3 years.  The letter of intent must be submitted via email to NCENA Government Affairs at governmentaffairs@northcarolinaena.org no later than February 7th.  Selections will be announced on February 11th with formal registration for those selected to begin on February 14th.

SELECTIONS:
NCENA's Government Affairs team will review all applications and endorse the slate of selections to the NCENA Board for approval.  Of note, NCENA will make selections for the following categories:
- FUNDED PRIMARY (3) - These will be our top 3 selections since we initially only receive 3 registrations from National ENA.  These selectees, if they accept, will receive our first 3 registration slots and funded up to the $1250 reimbursement limit.
- FUNDED ALTERNATE (1) - If the selectee accepts, NCENA will request an additional registration slot from National ENA.  If we receive the additional registration slot, this selectee will be funded up to the $1250 reimbursement limit.
- UNFUNDED ALTERNATE (No Limit) - If the selectee(s) accepts, NCENA will request an additional registration slot(s) from National ENA.  If we receive the additional registration slot(s), the selectee(s) will be not be eligible for NCENA reimbursement.

As a reminder, we will currently have a more local opportunity coming up at the end of May right here in North Carolina.  The Nurses Night at the Legislature will be May 21, 2024.  More information will be posted on our events page once registration opens.

If you have any questions, please reach out to NCENA Government Affairs at governmentaffairs@northcarolinaena.org.
